Did I make Him see? Did I pour my knowledge through Him? Did He fail to heed, Good advice that once I gave Him? Did I ever bleed, on a rugged cross to save Him? No, you and I never have put God in our debt. Only made Him cry as our 'grand' ideals were upset. "In God we trust," we all have seen it. "In God we trust," how many mean it...at all... America, you have heard His call, all these years. As in Ninevah, where the preaching moved them to tears. And now our time is here. With hardened hearts, we cannot funcion. Our hardened hearts invite destruction, of us all... It's not too late, while it is still called today. We dare not wait. The devil gloats at our delay. When nations die, it's pride that brought on their fate. So let us cry, to God before it's too late. ------------------------------------ * City Song * Music by Kevin Johnson, Lyrics by Joseph Ravitts Let's go, check out the city. Let's try, to fill up the night. Just don't look where it's gritty. Stay close to the shiney rainbow neon light. ...but is it right? Subways, taking people nowhere..., somewhere walled-up in stone. Do they, care why they go there, when that subway takes them home again alone ...their hope has flown. Those towers are cold. They chill the human lives they hold. Men fear their neighbors, It's so hard to make a friend. There's death in the city, Oh LORD, when will it end? No man has the cure. God is who we need for sure. We'll have a Perfect City, When Jesus Comes Again! ------------------------------ * Honor in your eyes * by Kevin Johnson I want to find honor in your eyes, give you good things, telling you no lies. I want to give you, songs the we can sing, about our Lord and the love that He can bring. He can bring us together as we grow, And sweet affection we will show. I want to pray together on our knees asking Jesus to help us as He leads. I want to give our life to our young, teach them Jesus, and the cross where He hung. Where He died on golgatha far away, and show them He rose on Easter day. I want to find honor in your eyes, give you good things, telling you no lies. -------------------------------------- * Star Song: T-shirts and Posters * music by Kevin Johnson lyrics, Johnson & Ravitts Hello, I'm from planet earth. We have a lot of stars down here. They glow and shine for all their worth. But they are not as they appear. Under their romantic guise, Sinful human nature lies, Insecure and full of need, Feeding people's lust of the eyes, drained by their greed. T-shirts, and posters Farah face, heedless of who beholds or how, She flirts with all the human race, til they ignore her wedding vow. She who holds the crowds today, will grow old and fade away. Where will men's applause be then? In the end what God has to say, counts more than men. Hello, I'm from planet earth, We have a lot of stars down here. They sell themselves below their worth. And this has often cost them dear. Leaving God they lose their way, in a world of crass display. But it never need be so, If they'd just let Christ work *His* way into the show. ---------------------------- * Sir Wilfred and Rebeccah (of Ivanhoe) * by Joseph Ravitts Keyboards, J. B. Whitchurch In the courtyard of a castle stood a Jewish maid, Rebeccah accused of working sorceries from hell. All the witnesses were liars, and the judges all were bigots. They hated her for being a child of Israel. They boasted they were 'christians' but if they'd read their Bibles in Genesis twelvth chapter and third verse, they would have seen the promise that God had given Abram, that those who curse His people, God would curse. (chorus) Bless the seed of Abraham, God has not forsaken them, He loves them and He wants us to agree. Bless the seed of Abraham, God has not forsaken them, They still (ultimately) belong as branched on His tree. But they didn't read their Bibles, they preferred their own commandments, and so they piled the firewood at the stake. If a champion should save her, they agreed to spare the maiden, but that looked like a danger no man would dare to take. For on the field (of battle) Sir Brian a murderous crusader Stood by to fight and kill whoever came. None there were so courageous as to oppose his power, to save a Jewish damsel from the flame. (chorus) In the nick of time Sir Wilfred took the challenge for Rebeccah. None better knew her innocence than he. In the name of truth and justice he went forth to fight Sir Brian, And God's own hand from heaven, gave Wilfred victory! Thus rescued by Sir Wilfred of Ivanhoe from burning, Rebeccah lived and God was glorified. But Ivanhoe's example too often goes unheeded, Come Christians let us be on Jacob's side! (chorus) ---------------------- * If you Think you Don't need Jesus Christ * by Joseph Ravitts A couple thousand years ago. There lived a Rabbi down in Israel Who said that he could save a soul from hell But who He was they did not know. Out in the wilderness a Voice Cried to the people 'You are not secure, Until the son of God has made you pure, His is the power, yours the choice.' If you think you don't need Jesus Christ, brother I suggest you stop and think twice, who else in creation, can give salvation? The wisdom of the world can lead you astray, drugs will only take your senses away, There's no other Savior, Now, Then, or Ever. Down at the Jordan every day Ole John the Baptist warned them to repent, and to believe in Him that God had sent. Some listened others turned away. And even now it's just the same. Too many people groping in the night, who shut their eyes against the living light, and shut their ears against His name. If you think you don't need Jesus Christ, You are living in a 'fool's paradise' and where will it get you? Nowhere, I'll bet you. But if you will let Him in at your door, He will let you know what you're living for, You'll wind up your story, bound straight for glory.
