              All the above is accomplished on the cross
              of Jesus Christ, via a substitutionary
              sacrifice of atonement. The initiative is 
              with God.  Christ dies our death in 
              proxi, to accomplish what we could
              never do for ourself. It was VERY
              neccessary if we were to be truly saved.
              It is COMPLETE in itself with our
              adding nothing to it. It TOTALLY
              ACCOMPLISHED these purposes (above) 
              that God intended for it to accomplish
              (eg. it worked, and only it CAN work)
              thus Christ's substitutionary death 
              is EFFICACIOUS.
